Chundiramgha will be turned into language research centre: CM Nepali

Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Krishna Chandra Nepali has said that the birthplace of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya, Chundiramgha, will be converted into a language research centre.

Issuing a press statement here today on the occasion of 208th birth anniversary of the pioneer poet of Nepal, Bhanubhakta, CM Nepali spoke of the need to make Nepali language more strong. “Language continues to be revised and refined. I would like to urge all the scholars and intellectuals for their contribution to enrich Nepali language for which Bhanubhakta had laid a strong foundation for.”

Stating that the birthplace of Bhanubhakta in Tanahu district is a pristine land and it should be protected and promoted for the advancement of Nepali language, literature and culture among others, CM Nepali pledged to coordinate efforts with the stakeholders for the same.

The CM also reminisced that while King Prithivi Narayan Shah unified the modern-days Nepal geographically poet Bhanubhakta united Nepal through language, art and culture among others.

Bhanubhakta had translated Ramayan, the epic in Sanskrit, into Nepali. The CM, in the message, said that the contribution by Bhanubhakta would always remain in the mind and heart of Nepal and Nepalis. “Bhanubhakta, a source of inspiration and pride for Nepal and Nepalis, will be memorable to all the Nepalis at home and abroad,” CM Nepali said.

Bhanubhakta was born on 29th of Nepali month Asar in 1971 BS.
