COVID-19: 3,082 people recover as 2,828 new cases reported

A total of 3,082 more people have recovered from COVID-19 in past 24 hours. With this, the total number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 has reached 543,521 in the country. The recovery rate has now climbed to 88.5 per cent.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 2,828 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the nation during the same period. With this, the number of the COVID-19 infected people has reached 614,216.

Meanwhile, 52 people died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 8,558.

The latest COVID-19 cases were detected in 13,022 tests including 8,687 RT-PCR and 4,335 antigen tests held in various laboratories in the country in the past 24 hours. According to the Ministry, 3,240,299 RT-PCR tests have been done so far in the country.

Meanwhile, the total number of active cases stands at 62,137 with 57,826 in home-based isolation, 4,311 in institutional isolation and 902 in ICU while 279 are with ventilator support. Similarly, another 506 are in quarantine.

In Kathmandu valley, the number of active cases stands at 7,337 in Kathmandu. Likewise, there are 3,057 active cases in Lalitpur and 2,328 in Bhaktapur district.
