The opposition coalition has presented a claim for the formation of a new government in Gandaki Province with majority signatures of 31 province assembly members.
In line with the Article 168 (5) of the Constitution, Province Chief Sita Kumari Poudel today called for province assembly members for picking a new chief minster within 3.00 pm Saturday.
The opposition comprising Nepali Congress (15), CPN-Maoist Centre (11), Rastriya Janamorcha (2), Janata Samajwadi (2) and one independent assembly member had put forth province assembly member Krishna Chandra Nepali as the chief minister.
A process for the appointment of the new chief minister has begun after sitting chief minister Prithvi Subba Gurung on Thursday failed to gain vote of trust in the province assembly. —
