Prohibitory order in Kathmandu extended until July 15

The prohibitory order in the Kathmandu Valley that started on April 29 following the second wave of COVID-19 has been extended until July 15. However, the prohibitory measures have been loosened additionally. A meeting of Chief District Officers of all three districts in the Kathmandu Valley on Sunday decided in this regard.

According to the new order that will come into effect on July 6, all types of businesses will remain open. The time period for the businesses to remain open is until 6 pm.

Vehicles carrying goods are allowed from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Vehicles carrying construction materials are allowed from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. However, pharmacies will remain open anytime.

In case of transportation, odd and even number system has been removed allowing unhindered operation of the vehicles. The health protocol should be followed and vehicles carrying passengers more than their bearing capacity are subject to an action.

Gatherings, meetings, conferences, religious and any type of programmes have been banned while cinema halls, party palaces and fitness centres will remain closed. Online business will remain open until 7:00 pm.

Public and private vehicles entering the Valley need to get pass from the respective district administration offices.

Prescheduled written and practical examinations will be allowed by following the health protocol.
