Two children were killed in landslides triggered by incessant rainfall in the district. The deceased are seven-year-old Binod Bhandari and 11-year-old Jenisha Bista of Dipayal Silgadi municipality-5, according to Chief of District Police Office, Doti Dan Bahadur Malla.
They had reportedly gone to herd goats at a place called Chisapani near their village when the fatal incident took place. They were taking shelter in a cave when the incident took place burying them alive, locals said.
Police with help of locals retrieved their body later. So far, three people have already died in landslides in the district.
