UML first statute general convention begins Friday

The first statute general convention of CPN (UML) is going to take place from tomorrow (Friday). The venue for the three-day convention is Godawari Sunrise Conference Centre in Lalitpur. Approximately 6,000 representatives are expected to take part in the conference.

UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the general convention, said the statute general convention main management committee at a press conference here Thursday.

Party Chair Oli and other party leaders are slated to address the inaugural session. Following this, in the closed session, Chair Oli, on behalf of the central committee, will table political proposal, General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel the organisational proposal and Deputy General Secretary and chief of the party organisation department Bishnu Prasad Poudel the statute amendment proposal.

On the second day, group discussions will take place and suggestion from group leaders presented.

On third day, suggestions from group discussions and issues raised will be made clear and their summaries taken place.
