Free health services have been provided through the Sowarigpa medical practice to the people of Upper Mustang who have not been able to easily avail of modern medical services.

Around 1,750 persons were provided free health checkup services along with medicines. Eleven Sowarigpa physicians and Amchis provided the services.

Free medical camp was organized at Lo-Ghekar Damodarkunda and Lomangthan rural municipalities for three weeks under the joint aegis of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Sowarigpa Association of Nepal.

Public awareness programme was also conducted at every ward of the two rural municipalities as part of the health camp with the objective of preserving local medicinal herbs through environment and biodiversity conservation, said Association president Dr (Amchi) Tenjing Dharke Gurung.
