2,760 new COVID-19 cases reported in past 24 hours

A total of 2,760 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 caseload in the country to 640,662 till date. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were detected from 7,130 PCR tests and 3,855 Antigen tests conducted during the same period.

Similarly, 4,017 COVID-19 patients have recovered in a day. With this the total recovery cases reached 60,0149 meaning the recovery rate is at 93.7 per cent. Another, 33 people succumbed to Coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours which puts the total COVID-19 fatalities cases at 9,145 as of now, said the Ministry.

There are currently 31,368 active cases of COVID-19 in the country. Among them, 28,374 were availing treatment at home-isolation and 2,994 were being treated in institutional isolation.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases in Kathmandu district remains 5,011 with Lalitpur recording 1,948 active cases and Bhaktapur 1,395, the Ministry said in its routine press meet.
