A U.S. Internet news outlet on North Korean affairs said Friday that two North Korean vessels under global sanctions were recently spotted in the high seas south of the Korean Peninsula.
NK News said that three North Korean vessels, including the two mentioned, appear to have traveled on a similar route over the past ten days.
The report confirmed that one ship "the First Gleam," registered as Tanzanian, was in waters 300 kilometers south of the Korean Peninsula on Wednesday.
Thirteen-thousand-ton North Korean cargo ship "Sungjin" has also traveled on a course that passes near Japanese waters on Tuesday.
NK News said that given the previous locations of the two vessels, their travels may be connected to the transport of relief supplies to flood victims in North Hamgyong Province.
