35 per cent physical progress achieved in Nagdhunga tunnel

The physical progress in the Nagdhunga tunnel way has reached around 35 per cent while the economic progress is 43 per cent.

The Nagdhunga Tunnel Way Project said 76 per cent of the road construction was finished while the progress on dam is 37 per cent. So far, construction of overpass is completed and flyover is under construction. Development of two underpasses out of three is done and three box culverts are also constructed. Likewise, two out of three bridges have also completed.

Till date, 1.1 km of the main tunnel is completed out of its total 2.6 km length.

The Project further shared that development of 1,384 metres of exit tunnel is finished out of total 2,557 metres. The Project has already completed the working audit as well.

Similarly, 48 out of 128 metres of the cross passage is over.

The Nagdhunga Tunnel, which is the first of its kind in the country, is being developed with the concessional loan assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
