The 42nd memorial day of founding general-secretary of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is going to be observed on Wednesday with various programmes.

Pushpalal Memorial Foundation’s general-secretary GangalalTuladhar shared that the Memorial Day would be marked in a small scale due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Tuladhar, an informal programme would be organized at Pushpalal Memorial Park at Champadevi in Kirtipur to commemorate the death anniversary of the communist leader. A condolence assembly would be held at the statute of Pushalal at the park.

NCP’s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal is likely to address the condolence assembly. Born on 15 Asar 1981 BS, Pushpalal fought for freedom of people till he breathed his last on 7 Shrawan 2035 BS.

Pushpalal had published the Communist Manifesto in Nepali in 2005 BS and had propagated the Marxist thoughts in the country.  He was the first leader to present framework for joint people’s movement in 2025 BS against then Panchayat era’s party-less system of governance.

On the Memorial Day tomorrow, another park constructed in memory of the leader at ward no 18 of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City would be inaugurated.

There has been no programme scheduled at the NCP for tomorrow, informed NCP central office’s secretary IshworiRijal.
