Coronavirus infection has been confirmed on 451 more individuals today. In a regular press meet organized by Ministry of Health and Population, Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam, said that coronavirus has been confirmed positive on 416 men and 35 women in course of test carried out at different labs in the country.
With this, the number of coronavirus infected people has reached 6,211 in the country. Of them, 5,740 are men and 471 are women. The COVID-19 infection has spread to 73 of the 77 districts so far, he said.
Gautam shared that a total of 67 people infected with coronavirus and undergoing treatment at different hospitals have been discharged today after recovery.
Twenty-four men have been discharged from COVID-19 Hospital, Janakpur, three women and a man from Patan Academy of Health Sciences, two women from Armed Police Force’s COVID Hospital, Balambu, a woman and a man from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, six men from Kalaiya Hospital, Bara, 17 men from Shahi Krishna Isolation, Saptari and a woman and 11 men from COVID-19 Hospital, Beljhundi, Dang.
With this, the number of discharged people has reached 1,041. Of them, 104 are women and 937 are men. A total of 138,683 people underwent PCR test and 219,336 people RDT test so far. One lakh and 33,829 people are in quarantine across the nation.
Similarly, one more lab has been established in Pokhara by installing a PCR machine from today.
Likewise, the Ministry has formed a team under coordination of senior health administrator of the Ministry, Dr Madhav Prasad Lamsal comprising a doctor to coordinate and facilitate with different health organisation in the treatment ofCOVID-19 patients.
Spokesperson Gautam added that process to take action against those involved in raping a woman staying at quarantine at Lamki Chuha municipality-1 of Kailali district has been initiated.
He said the Ministry condemns the incident, adding that there was involvement of local leaders including health worker in the incident.
