More than 500 Galaxy Note7 smartphone owners in Korea have filed a class action lawsuit against Samsung Electronics for alleged inconveniences they experienced after the discontinuation of the device.
In the suit filed with the Seoul Central District Court on Monday, a total 527 people are seeking 500-thousand won or 440 U.S. dollars in damages, each.
The plaintiffs claimed that they had to take out time to visit stores several times for battery checks and to get replacements.
Koh Young-il, who represent the group, said that when dealing with defects of electronic appliances worth over one million won, it is normal for a company to have their stores send people to visit the consumers to check the defective products or pick up the products and give a refund.
Koh added that his law firm will gather a second and third round of complaintangroups to file a similar suit.
