As many as 67 children and parents were taken sick after consuming Prasad from Saraswati Puja organised by Rastriya Primary School at Haripur of Surunga Municipality-7 in Saptari district, said the municipality authority.

They got food poisoning after consuming stale food and Prasad prepared for the occasion, said Buni Lal Yadav, chief of the district health office, Saptari, adding that the ailing people are receiving treatment at a local health institute.

For want of space in the overcrowded health facility, a team from the district health office, Saptari is attending to some of the patients at the school, he said.
