884 COVID-19 infected cases, including 186 in Kathmandu Valley, found today

Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 884 people, including 186 in the Kathmandu Valley, in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said. Among the new infected cases, 242 are female and 642 male.

 

Ministry’s spokesman, Dr Jageshwor Gautam informed at a regular press briefing here this afternoon that 12 infected persons, including six in the Valley, died from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The number of people died due to coronavirus infection has reached 207 so far.

 

Among the new cases found in the last 24 hours, one is from Ilam, 20 are from Jhapa, 19 from Dhankuta, 31 from Morang, three from Sankhuwasabha and 24 from Sunsari in State no 1. Similarly, 49 new cases were reported in Dhanusha, 73 in Parsa, 21 in Bara, 26 in Mahottari, five in Rautahat, two in Saptari 83 in Sarlahi and 22 in Siraha under State no 2.

 

Likewise, under Bagmati State, 155 new cases were registered in Kathmandu, 19 in Kavrepalanchowk,  57 in Chitwan, one in Dolakha, nine in Dhading, 12 in Bhaktapur, 19 in Lalitpur, nine in Makawanpur and one in Sindhupalchok district while under Gandaki State, three new cases were recorded in Kaski, 23 in Nawalparasi Purba and 29 in Lamjung.

 

Under State no 5, two new cases were found in Kapilbastu, one in Gulmi, 19 in Dang, 10 in Nawalparasi Paschim, 20 in Banke and 16 in Rupandehi district.

 

In Karnali State, one new case each was registered in Jajarkot, Jumla, Dailekh, Rukum Paschim and 10 new cases in Surkhet district while under Sudurpaschim State, 17 new cases were recorded in Kanchanpur, 19 in Kailali, three in Darchula, 26 in Bajhang and 21 in Baitadi district.

 

Dr Gautam said PCR test has been carried out on 10 thousand 971 people in the last 24 hours and so far 669 thousand 626 PCR tests have been done. The number of people in quarantine is 8,035 and 20 thousand 555 people have returned home after health recovery over the last 24 hours.  Two districts, namely Mustang and Humla, have zero cases of COVID-19.

 

So far, 24 million 920 thousand 24 people have been infected with COVID-19 throughout the world while 841 thousand 486 have lost their lives to the pandemic. Seventeen million 303 thousand 818 people have recovered from COVID-19 the world over.
