The eighth session of the National Assembly (NA) has started today.
Speaking at the NA meeting, the lawmakers shared their ideas for unity and collaboration between all leftist and democratic forces in the country adding that time has come to safeguard the provisions mentioned in the Constitution of Nepal.
At the meeting, ruling party’s lawmaker Suman Raj Pyakurel said that the political issue should be resolved politically through the people’s representative organisation and cautioned to the trend of taking everything to the court.
Nepali Congress lawmaker Radhe Shyam Adhikari urged the government to pay attention of the rescue and relief distribution to the people affected from flood and inundation, and treatment to the COVID-19 patients.
Similarly, CPN (Maoist Centre) NA lawmaker Dinanath Sharma said that current crises in the country were the outcome of poor culture of consensus and cooperation after the promulgation of constitution.
Sharma also demanded that the farmers be given chemical fertilizers and relief materials to the people affected from flooding and landslides.
Also speaking at the meeting, Janata Samajwadi Party’s Shekhar Kumar Singh and Pramila Kumari asked the government for effective intervention to ensure relief to the communities affected from recent incidences of flooding and inundations.
