A nine-year-old girl died in cheetah attack in Bandipur Rural Municipality in Tanahu district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Sukriti Thapa Magar of Bahune Bhangyanj of Bandipur-5 in Tanahu district, according to Bandipur Rural Municipality chairperson Purna Singh Thapa.
The dead body of the minor girl was found in a nearby forest. Locals here have been terrorized by the cheetah and other wild animal since Bandipur and its surroundings have verdant forest. The cheetahs are entering human settlement searching for food as their natural preys have been depleting in the forests.
A total of 11 children have lost their lives to cheetah’s attack in the past four years, said Division Forest Office, Tanahu.
