Collaboration among three organs necessary for ensuring rule of law: Speaker

Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire has stressed the need of collaboration among executive, legislature and judiciary.

At an interaction on ‘Challenges surfaced on existing legal arrangements and its resolving measures’, organized by the High Court Biratnagar Bar Association here today, he insisted on the necessity of coordination among three organs of the state for ensuring effective rule of law in the country.

Speaker Ghimire argued the main function of the parliament is law-making but it was engaged in other works during the past 16 months.

Though the role of the people’s representatives is to monitor, control and direct the government for effective performance the particular function has not been undertaken in a concrete manner, Ghimire mentioned.

He laid emphasis on framing several laws for the implementation of the Constitution, 2072 BS.

The parliament has taken strides on the works it emphatically needs to do, he said, adding the civil service bill has been sent to discus
sion in the parliamentary committee.

On the occasion, Speaker Ghimire handed over certificates to the legal professionals who were graduated from the 31st examination of advocates.
