The Supreme Court has issued an interim order not to implement the government's decision to open the demarcation of arable lands until September 24.
A single bench of Justice Sushmalata Mathema ruled in this regard. The apex court has also asked both the plaintiff and defendants to be present the same day for a discussion to this effect.
It has also asked the concerned authority to submit a written response in this regard with reasons within 15 days. The decision was taken place on September 3 on the recommendations of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation. Advocate Santosh Bhandari filed a writ petition in the apex court in this regard.
