The Nepali Army has started investigations into the incident of beating said to have taken place inside its peace keeping mission in Congo. Army spokesman Santosh Ballav Poudel said all the privates and officers are under investigation in connection with the incident that is against the Army’s discipline and conduct taken place among the private line mobilised there on peace keeping duty.
It is said investigation has been ordered under the leadership of a senior Major. The incident of beating is said to have occurred in the context of maintaining army discipline after some privates started quarrelling and making noise by consuming alcohol. The incident is said to have taken place of Thursday night.
It is learnt that some privates have sustained injuries in the incident took place when officer level soldier tried to discipline them.
