Nepal Tharu Journalists Association has condemned the attack on journalist Bipha Chaudhary. Chaudhary who works for Radio Namaste FM 96.5 Megahertz based in Tikapur was attacked by a group of three unidentified persons on Friday night.
The Association, through a press release today, stated that the unidentified people entered Chaudhary’s room at 9 pm on Friday and attacked her. She has sustained injuries due to the attack.
“This incident in which attempts have been made to kill the journalist by strangulating her neck with a shawl is a gross atrocity against human right as well as a heinous crime against humanity,” the press release states.
The Association has strongly denounced the attack and demanded an impartial investigation into it. It has called for bringing the culprits to book and drawn the attention of the bodies concerned in that connection. The Association has wished for journalist Chaudhary’s health recovery and demanded that the local administration should provide security to her.
