Police on Tuesday arrested three persons for allegedly involved in a rape case in the district. A police team caught teacher Khadak Bahadur Bohora, rural municipality employee Keshab Bohora and a local Ram Singh Bohora on the charge of raping a 17-year-old adolescent girl of Sigas rural municipality. The three were accused to have frequently raped the girl.

Chief District Officer of Baitadi Narayan Prasad Adhikari shared that all the rape-accused were taken under control to further the investigation and legal action.

The Nepali Criminal (Code) Act-2074 BS has specified that legal action would be taken against those involved in having sex with a women without her consent or with the consent of a child under 18. According to the law, the person (s) would be imprisoned for 10-12 years for raping a girl aged 16 years or above and below 18 years.

Police have rescued the raped gill. DSP Adhikari said the girl was rescued acting on the allegation that the school teacher and rural municipality employee have been frequently raping the adolescent.

“We are minutely investigating the case. We are also trying to understand the rape survivor. None involved in such crime would go scot free”, DSP Adhikari said.

The rape case has come to the public after the married adolescent delivered a child in six months following her wedding. ---
