Batase waterfall draws number of domestic tourists amid COVID-19

nepalnewsgazette.com October 4, 2020     Comment Closed     General

The Batase waterfall at Churephendi in Shuklaphanta Municipality-8 in the district has received an encouraging number of domestic tourists amidst COVID-19 pandemic.

Approximately 600 tourists have recently visited the area to enjoy the waterfall, said Ward Chair Bahadur Mahara. The tourist destination is flooded during holidays including Saturdays.

Awareness programmes against the infection have been launched targeting the visitors, he said. In a bid to facilitate the visitors, the ward office has opened a road to the area.

The road leading to the tourist destination would be blacktopped during the current fiscal year, 2020/21, said the ward office.
