Besisahar- Chame road obstructed

The Besisahar-Chame roadway, the only road connecting Lamjung and Manang districts has been obstructed. The road is blocked due to the occurrence of landslide and flood following incessant rain since Tuesday night. It has been obstructed at Puwakhola of Besisahar Municipality-7 and Kharkharebhir of the Municipality-6.

 

The flooded Puwakhola river has washed away five to six metres road and the mudslide along with boulders occurred at Kharkharebhir has blocked the road up to about 40 metres at this point, said Suman Adhikari, sub-engineer of the Dumre-Besisahar-Chame Road Project Office.

 

Vehicular movement has come to complete halt due to the obstruction. The Office said problem has been faced in opening the road section due to the continuous rain.
