Chief Minister Poudel’s personal secretary infected with coronavirus

nepalnewsgazette.com October 8, 2020     Comment Closed     General

A staffer at the Bagmati State government Chief Minister Dormani Poudel's secretariat has been infected with coronavirus. The virus has been confirmed in Chief Minister Poudel's personal secretary Sumitra Kafle.

High alertness has been adopted at the Chief Minister's Office and residence after Kafle tested positive for coronavirus. Kafle has been staying at home since 15 days after coronavirus infection was confirmed in one of the members of her family. It is said she has not met any staff of the Secretariat.

Kafle said coronavirus infection was confirmed after a test was carried out on her after she suffered from conditions like common flu and headache, and now she was in home isolation. She said she has no other symptoms other than common cold and cough and that she has not met with any other person except the members of her family as she was in home isolation.

The Chief Minister's regular works would not be affected although Kafle has been infected. "The Chief Minister has been carrying out his official duties by adopting high precaution and maintaining social distance since the past. He will continue his official works," said Anup Poudel, the Chief Minister's Principal Private Secretary. He said the meetings have however been minimised.
