Cleaning staffs in TIA found involved in gold smuggling

The cleaning staffs at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have been found to be involved in gold smuggling.

A total of 2.332 kilogrammes of gold was being smuggled via TIA. The cleaning staffs, used as puppet, were found to attempt smuggling previous yellow metals worth around Rs 20 million from TIA to outside on last Thursday.

According to the Airport Security Office at TIA, security staffs arrested five cleaning staffers who were trying to smuggle gold, according to SSP Bhim Prasad Dhakal.

SSP Dhakal shared that two cleaning staffs, a supervisor and two others involved in the smuggling were nabbed, Further investigation into the case was underway,
