Constitution 2nd amendment greeted across country by lighting lamps

The second amendment to the Constitution has been hailed across the country and greeted by lighting lamps.

 

The Federal Parliament endorsed the ‘Constitution of Nepal (Second Amendment) Bill 2077BS’ presented to incorporate Lipulek, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura of Darchula district in Nepal’s map so as to include them in the Coat of Arms in Schedule-3 of the constitution.

 

The bill was passed by more than two-thirds majority of the parliament today.

 

An illumination programme was organised in Banepa of Kavrepalanchok, this evening hailing the constitution amendment. The National Youth Association and the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), the two sister organisations of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), lit lamps on the occasion. Activists of both the organisations celebrated the day by waving national flags in jubilation at Banepa Chardobato.

 

In Tanahu, an illumination has been organised at Damauli this evening in jubiliation of this move. The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Damauli organised the lamp lighting programme.

 

Various district leaders of the party said today was a historic day for the country as it has reinstated its territories that have been encroached by India. They stressed on greater national unity now to actually get back the Nepali lands.

 

Similarly in Syangja, lights were lit at the Shahid Chok in the district headquarters. The illumination programme was organised by the NCP Syangja. The Waling Chamber of Commerce and Industry also lit lamps to celebrate the constitution second amedment. General public and several organisations lit lamps, hailing the constitution amendment.

 

Likewise, in Biratnagar, the National Youth Association and All Nepal National Students Union Morang chapters lit lamps in celebration of the constitution amendment. Leaders speaking in the illumination programme  at local Jana Aandolan Chok described this constitution amendment as establishing Nepal’s sovereignty and dignity.

 

In Butwal also lamps were lit in celebration of the historic day of the second amendment to the constitution for reclaiming Nepal’s territories encroached by India.

 

Lamp lighting programme was also held in Martadi, the district headquarters of Bajura district, by NCP Bajura on the occasion.
