In a bid to update Nepal’s map placed in the Coat of Arms mentioned in the Schedule of the Constitution of Nepal, the Bill on Constitution of Nepal (Second Amendment) 2077 BS has been registered at the Federal Parliament Secretariat on Friday.

The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs registered the Bill to incorporate the updated map of Nepal in the Coat of Arms.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Shivamaya Tumbahangphe registered the Bill.

As Nepal’s map placed in the Coat of Arms was required to update with the actual territory of the country, the Constitution Amendment Bill is submitted meant to amend the Schedule 3 of the Constitution of Nepal, read the Bill’s purpose and reason.

The government on Tuesday had published the new political and administrative map of the country by incorporating Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura area that were encroached by India.

The Bill shall be tabled in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting in five days of its registration and then published for the public notice.

After general discussions on the Bill, time shall be given to submit amendment motion on the Bill and the amendment motion shall be put for decision if any amendment motion were received.

Completing those stages, the Bill would enter into the National Assembly along with the two-third signatures of the HoR members. Spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Dr Rojnath Pande said that the same processes would be followed in the National Assembly as well.
