Contempt of court case against Prof Luintel registered

A case of contempt of court has been registered at the Supreme Court against Prof Khagendra Luintel. Advocate Mukunda Prasad Bhattarai on Monday registered the case against Lunitel, a professor of Nepali Central Department of Tribhuvan University.

In the writ, advocate Bhattarai claims that Professor Luintel in an interview in an Everest You Tube Channel had expressed objectionable views against the court and judges.

Advocate Bhattarai has demanded maximum punishment following the existing laws of contempt of court against Luintel. Professor Luintel’s objectionable remarks were over the SC’s latest verdict on embossed number plate on vehicles.

The SC recently made a decision to open the process of resuming the embossed number plate putting Roman letters only. The apex court’s latest decision has been met with objections and protests by different organizations and concerned sides.
