Chief of the Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa has said that all regional headquarters of the Nepal Army should prepare in coordination with stakeholder agencies considering the likelihood of increased spread of the pandemic in the coming winter.
Addressing the conclusion session of the three-day coordination meeting of the regional chiefs at the NA headquarters today, he said a matured plan based on risk analysis should be made and work on it in a coordinated manner. He also suggested them to give special attention to the health safety of the soldiers and their family, so as to protect them from the infection. "Even if they become infected, proper treatment facility along with encouragement should be provided," he added.
The positive change in the style of working of the army will further consolidate the effort to make the organization based on a system and procedure.
During the meeting, the head of the subordinate bodies under the headquarters including directorate general, directorate, department and regional headquarters shared their progress report along with an analysis of the current situation and challenges faced as a result of COVID-19 and possible way forward.
