Chief of Gandaki Province Prithvi Man Gurung has said eye treatment service was being more effective in Nepal.
Inaugurating the 27th Convention of Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh in Pokhara on Saturday, Gurung said the latest technologies in eye care service have made the treatment more effective and credible.
On the occasion, Province Chief Gurung underscored the need of expanding eye care services to the people in rural and remote areas too.
Praising the efforts of Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh to streamline the support from the development partners and different agencies to the eye care services, Gurung said three layers of government should take its ownership now.
During the programme, Chairman of Sangh Dr Chetnarayan Panta shared that plans are afoot to establish five hospitals and 25 eye treatment centres in the near future.
As high as 250 representatives are present in the two-day-long convention.
