COVID-19: 457 new cases, one death in past 24 hours

A total of 457 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were confirmed through 4,651 sample tested through PCR and Antigen tests in various labs across the country during the same period. The infection rate is at 17 per cent.

Likewise, a person succumbed to the flu-like infection in the past 24 hours, the Ministry said. So far, 11,854 people have lost their lives to Coronavirus infection.

Similarly, 48 infected ones enjoyed recovery from the deadly infection in a day, taking the recovery toll to 968,064 till date. The infection rate stands at 98.6 per cent, informed the Ministry.

Currently, there are 1,776 active cases of COVID-19 in the country. Among them, 1,709 were being treated in home isolation, 75 in institutional isolation, 15 in ICU and one with ventilator support.

Of the 77 districts, Kathmandu is the only district having over 500 active cases of COVID-19 at present. Taplejung, Manang, Mustang, Jajarkot, Kalikot, Mugu, Bajura and Dadheldhura have no active case of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, 98,900 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 today alone.
