COVID-19 infected tally reaches 262 in Karnali State

Number of people testing positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) has so far reached 262 in Karnali State.

 

As updated by the Division of Health Service under the Ministry of Social Development, additional 20 individuals tested positive for coronavirus in Karnali state as of 12.00 noon today. With this, the number of coronavirus infected people has reached 262.

 

Division Chief Dr Laxmi Narayan Tiwari, shared that the new COVID-19 infected people include eight from Birendranagar-1, and three from Birendranagar-3 of Surkhet, and nine from Darma rural municipality.

 

Similarly, nine additional people from Achham in Sudurpaschim State whose swab samples were tested at Surkhet-based State Hospital- Livestock disease diagnostic laboratory have also come positive. Laboratory test of swab collected in Sudurpaschim State is being carried out at Surkhet-based State Hospital-Livestock Disease Diagnostic Lab.

 

A person from Mangalsen municipality-4, and six men and two women from Mallekh rural municipality were detected with . Coronavirus.

 

According to the Ministry, the new COVID-19 infected people are in contact with health workers. All coronavirus infected people confirmed in Karnali State have returned from India. There are 550 isolation units and 17 ventilators across Karnali State, it is said. —
