Minister for Defence Ishwar Pokhrel on Friday held telephone conversation with his Canadian counterpart Harjit Sajjan.
The two held talks about the efforts taken to prevent and control the pandemic COVID-19 and the ways to make effective the bilateral assistance, Ministry of Defence’s Spokesperson Santa Bahadur Sunar said in a press statement.
On the occasion, Minister Pokhrel also expressed heartfelt condolences to Canadian nationals who died of coronavirus infection while wishing for the speedy recovery of those infected ones.
Pokhrel also familiarized Sajjan about Nepal’s efforts taken to control the infection.
During the talks, the Canadian leader praised Nepal’s efforts taken to prevent and control the global pandemic and pledged mutual cooperation between the two countries in future.
Present during the telephone conservation were high-ranking officials of Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
