Dr Koirala for worker friendly local levels

npadmin May 1, 2022     Comment Closed     General

Central member of Nepali Congress Dr Sekhar Koirala has said all local levels should be made friendly to workers' rights. Nepali Congress is committed to the rights of workers, he said, adding that it respects labour.

Central member Koirala said it during a programme organized on the 133rd International Labour Day at Hatthali bazaar near Biratnagar Mills on Sunday.

He made it clear that the ruling political parties formed electoral alliance even at local levels for the protection of constitution and consolidation of democracy. Dr Koirala however said there would be healthy competition at ward level as per agreement with political parties.

On the occasion, Nepali Congress central member and former minister Bimalendra Nidhi also viewed the electoral alliance was made for the effective implementation of federalism and republic. He reminded that Nepali Congress had led the democratic movements since 2007 to 2062/63BS and claimed that it would now secure victory at local levels.

He expressed solidarity to the rights of workers as employment and benefits.

Other speakers as Dr Dila Sangraula, Amrit Aryal and Bhim Parajuli said industrial policies could be formulated with the participation of private sector. Creation of jobs is utmost need, he added.

NC candidate for the post of mayor in Biratnagar Metropolis Nagesh Koirala expressed commitment to reducing corruption to zero.
