EC officials call on President Bhandari

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged the authorities concerned including the Election Commission to conduct the upcoming local elections in a free, fair and impartial manner.

President Bhandari said this at a meeting with the officials of the EC in regard to the issues, including electoral preparation.

The President urged the EC to pay maximum attention on security arrangement so as to allow voters to use their franchise right without any fear and influence. She also asked the EC to fulfill the legal responsibility to conduct the elections in the country.

On the occasion, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said all preparations were made including enforcement of election code of conduct to conduct the upcoming local election in a free and fair manner.
