Secretary at Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Baikuntha Aryal, has informed that the ministry had begun adopting digital system in 90 percent of office works.
Releasing a magazine 'Prabidhi' published by Technology Journalists' Forum here Monday, Secretary Aryal said the government facilities would be brought to IT system in order to ensure prompt and reliable public service delivery. The Secretary further said government would develop and expand IT with the cooperation and collaboration of private sectors.
According to him, if the entire business system goes digital, it would bring change in entire production and supply system.
On the occasion, Chairperson of Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), Purushottam Khanal, said although the internet and telephone facilities were the luxury items, these have now turned into most essential things. NTA was established to regulate for broader issues of IT, he added.
