As coronavirus infection was confirmed in India-returnees at Gadhawa Rural Municipality of Dang, eight male including an infant were also found to have infected with the virus in Pyuthan district following the contact tracing, Chief of Health Office Bishal Subedi said.
Those infected in Pyuthan are three from Ward No. 2 and five from Ward No. 3. The infected are from two years to 36 years old. Those individuals tested positive for the virus had come home together with the people of Gadhawa from Indian cities of Chennai, Chandighadh and Jalandhar on May 19.
The PCR tests of a total of 33 people along with two individuals from Pyuthan Municipality were conducted. Upon their arrival from India via Krishnanagar point, they were kept in a quarantine facility of Saraswoti Basic School in Pyuthan-3.
Meanwhile, 18 individuals including a couple tested positive for the virus in Bardiya on Monday. Of them, two each are from Madhuban and Barabardiya municipalities, three from Thakurbaba and nine from Basgadhi.
