With the publication of final name list of election candidates, the electoral campaigning has been intensified by the political parties.

There are a total of 384 candidates from three rural municipalities in the district. A woman candidate from Bhume Rural Municipality-3 has been nominated unopposed.

Nine political parties are in the fray here. They are NC, CPN UML, CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, RPP, Nepal Workers and Peasant Party, National Mongol Organization and Rastriya Janamorcha Party. In addition to these, there are some independent candidates as well.

They are organizing door-to-door campaigns now. Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Khadka informed that necessary security arrangement was put in place to hold the election in a peaceful atmosphere. It is the responsibility of all sides to conduct election in peaceful and fair manner, he said, adding that security persons were being mobilized in the necessary places.
