Electoral alliance as per need: NC general secretary

Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said his party would forge alliance in the local level elections as per the need.

Addressing the party cadres here on Saturday organised by NC Thori-Kathmandu Liaison Committee, the NC general secretary said his party would go for alliance in the local level polls by considering the local context and needs. "NC will forge alliance in view of the local needs," according to Sharma.

He also asked the political parties in the alliance not to expect more seats than their capacity adding that the NC was not a weak political force.

Likewise, Sharma shared that the rumours spread on people against the US government's grant assistance MCC should be dissected and argued that NC won't accept any of the country's military strategy in Nepal.

On the occasion, NC central committee member Ajay Babu Siwakoti said the right to force alliance in the local level elections is given to the party's local-level committee.

Also speaking at the event, NC leader and former minister Bhimsen Das Pradhan asked the youths to work to make NC the single largest force in the upcoming polls adding that alliance will not take place in pressure.

NC's Madhes Province general secretary Brihaspati Krishna Shrestha also expressed his views on the occasion.
