Ex-President Lee Urges Park to Accept People’s Calls

nepalnewsgazette.com November 21, 2016     Comment Closed     Health & Safety

Former President Lee Myung-bak has urged President Park Geun-hye to accept the people's calls in relation to her involvement in the Choi Soon-sil scandal.

The former president told reporters on Monday that citizens who took to the streets in the anti-Park rallies and those who did not are probably of the same mind.

Lee expressed deep regret and disappointment over the situation, saying it is terrible that such a shameful scandal has occurred.

However, he added it is important the country follow procedures under the Constitution in reference to impeachment of the president.

Lee made the comments after visiting the grave of former President Kim Young-sam at Seoul National Cemetery ahead of the first anniversary of Kim's death.
