Excessive bleeding claims life of pregnant woman

Web Desk August 29, 2020     No Comment     General

A 23-year-old pregnant woman from Thatikandh Rural Municipality in Dailekh district died of excessive bleeding. It is said that Parbati Shahi died on her way to State Hospital in Surkhet after excessive bleeding that occurred when she gave birth to a baby in a primary health care centre in the rural municipality on Friday night.

Tek Bahadur, a brother-in-law of Shahi, said that she died for lack of timely treatment.

The local people said that Shahi died in absence of timely and proper health care as the remote village is too far from the district headquarters and the health professionals are also not present at the health care centre in the village.

Acting in-charge of the health care center Laxmi Rawat said that the new mom was referred to Surkhet after having problems for her treatment due to lack of sufficient health materials and doctors.

However, the health condition of the new born is normal.
