Within 24 hours of being announced, veteran politician Sohn Hak-kyu's public break with South Korea's main opposition party is beginning to have a ripple effect.
Representative Lee Chan-yeol announced Friday, he, too, is abandoning the Minjoo Party of Korea.
The three-term lawmaker from Suwon said he will lend his support to Sohn, who says Korea needs a major constitutional revamp.
It remains unclear at this time whether Sohn intends to join an existing party, or form a new one of his own.
