Five killed in jeep plunge

Five persons were killed and two others are missing when a jeep skidded off the road and fell into a local river at Chunichande rural municipality-1 in Darchula district on Wednesday. One persons has been injured. The injured one is receiving treatment at a local health institution, said the police.

The deceased have been identified as Amar Bahadur Shahi, ward chair of the rural municipality-11 and Kriti Shahi, Khyam Bahadur Shahi, Malika Basnet and Krishna Bahadur Shahi, all of the rural municipality. The ill-fated vehicle (Bhe 1 Ja 935) was headed to Parale from Khalanga, the district headquarters.
