Five of same village killed in jeep accident

Five persons were killed and six others injured in a jeep accident at Dandakharka Phirphire, Waling Municipality-12, Syangja district today. Eleven people were travelling in the jeep. The jeep (registration number Ga 1 Ja 7399) was heading towards Bayataari from Dandakharka when it met the accident. It fell nearly 200 metres from the road.

The deceased include 65-year-old Bir Bahadur Dala, 45-year-old Hira Dala, 25-year-old Sharmila Saru, Sharmila's six months old son of Waling Dandakharka-12 and 61-year-old Kul Kumari Kanauje of Waling-14, said Padam Raj Thapa, spokesman for the District Police Office Syangja.

Those injured in the accident are 50-year-old Anga Bahadur Dala, 55-year-old Maya Kumari Saru, 35-year-old Yogendra Thapa, 18-year-old Nabina Saru, 19-year-old Laxmi Dala and the jeep driver Dal Bahadur Thapa, 60, of Dandakharka, Waling-12. The injured have been sent to the Gandaki Medical College Hospital in Pokhara after being given primary treatment at the Garhaun Primary Hospital at Waling.

The village is in grief as the deceased and the injured are from there.
