Fresh mandate only is the alternative: UML Chair Oli

CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has stated that there was no alternative to going for a fresh mandate.

Talking to the media persons at the UML’s central party office at Thapathali, in Kathmandu today, Oli reiterated that the fresh mandate would only provide political outlet.

Oli was reelected to the party chairperson post in the recently held 10th national convention at Chitwan. He assumed the post officially today.

The former Prime Minister blamed that UML was split up by including the parliamentarians against whom the UML had taken action.

As for calling the winter session of federal parliament’s both Houses on December 14, Oli asserted, “The parliament cannot run its business in the presence of the parliamentarians punished by our party. The obstruction of Houses will continue.”

Along with the newly elected chairperson Oli, newly elected senior vice-chair Ishwor Pokharel, vice-chairpersons Astalaxmi Shakya, Yubaraj Gyawali, Bishnu Prasad Poudel, Ram Bahadur Bista, newly elected general secretary Shankar Pokharel, deputy general-secretaries Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Bishnu Rimal also took charge of office.

Likewise, secretaries Gokarnaraj Bista, Yogesh Bhattarai, Raghubir Mahaseth, Lekhraj Bhatta and Padma Aryal among others also assumed the office today itself.

The newly elected executive members were welcomed by UML central office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamag.
