Police in Germany are reportedly tracing the whereabouts of President Park Geun-hye's confidante Choi Soon-sil, who is mired in a growing influence-peddling scandal.
The Taunus Zeitung reported that German police are searching for the hiding place of Choi and her daughter. The newspaper, based in the Schmitten region where Choi had resided with her daughter until recently, quoted a previous neighbor.
Quoting another unnamed source, the newspaper added that Choi's paper company Widec registered 14 companies in an address in the Schmitten region.
If the report is correct, it means that Choi has set up more paper companies than the three that has been confirmed up until now.
The Taunus Zeitung said German police were tipped off about suspicious activities concerning the companies and inspected them on Saturday. It said rumors have been spreading among the neighbors since the investigation.
