Govt ready to resolve cooperatives’ problems: Finance Minister

Minister for Finance Bishnu Poudel has said that the government would support in resolving the problems facing the financial cooperatives sector. He added that the cooperatives were the base for building socialism.

He said cooperatives were one of the pillars among others of the national economy. Speaking in a programme organized on the occasion of the 28th annual general meeting of the National Cooperatives Federations here today, Minister Poudel argued that the problems could be resolved after holding discussions with the Prime Minister, Ministers, and Nepal Rastra Bank Governor if needed.

Similarly, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Shiva Maya Tumbahamphe urged the federation to identify measures to solve the problems surfaced in the sectors.

The federation chair Minraj Kandel presented progress report in the meeting. A book penned by former Minister Keshav Badal was also released on the occasion.
