Health Minister for expediting vaccination drive

Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada has stressed the need for speeding up vaccination drive against COVID-19 to reduce the casualties caused due to the pandemic.

Khatiwda, who arrived here on Tuesday to take stock of the situation of corona graph, status of vaccine and efforts taken to control the pandemic, said so while holding consultations with Chief Minister of Madhes Province Lal Babu Raut and Social Development Minister Nawal Kishor Sah.

On the occasion, Minister Khatiwada expressed concern over slow progress in the vaccination campaign at a time when the graph of corona virus infection was on the rise. He said the government has set a target to vaccinate 66 percent population by mid-January but it could not be met as the campaign has not advanced well in the districts of Madhes. “So, vaccination should be expedited by coordinating with the local government.” He was of the view that all should extend their best possible support to ensure the abidance of the health protocols.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Raut said the Province Government was moving ahead by making health security strategies.
