Highest single day spike of coronavirus infection

The Ministry of Health and Population has recorded the highest single day spike of coronavirus infection on Wednesday- 1,539 across the country.

In a regular press briefing, Ministry Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam said 1,068 persons returned home after recovery in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of those recovering from the coronavirus infection has reached 41,706. Similarly, 8,641 persons have been receiving treatment at institutional isolation. The home isolation has 7,701 infected persons.

In the last 24 hours, 10,494 persons underwent PCT test. With this, the total number of people PRC tested has reached 872,274. Currently, there are 7,820 persons staying in quarantine, according to Spokesperson Dr Gautam.

The recovery rate from coronavirus is 71.5 percent. There are more than 500 active cases of coronavirus in Morang, Siraha, Sunsari, Makwanpur, Chitwan, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Rupandehi, while the district having zero cases of infection are Solukhumbu, Mustang, Myagdi, Dolpa, Humla and Mugu.

Meanwhile, eight persons lost their lives to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. The total death toll has reached 379 in the country.
